Our Pastor

Pastor Ellis was raised in the New England mountains of Vermont. When he was 14, his family moved to North Carolina. He graduated high school and went directly into the military in the Law Enforcement division of the Security Police. He was honorably discharged in 1978 after four years of service. He was saved in October of 1985 at the age of 29. The Lord called him to preach in February of 1991. He attended Anchor Baptist Bible College from 1994 to 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. In December of 1997, the Lord called him back to his hometown of Bethel, Vermont to start a church. In October of 2000 after raising support, he and his family reached the field and started Victory Baptist Church. A good number of older New Englanders were saved. Eventually, they merged the church with a sister church and dissolved the Victory Baptist Church. After returning to North Carolina, he served as the pastor of Aaron Baptist Church in Asheville from 2007 until 2011. Then the Lord used Pastor Ellis to help struggling churches as they sought a pastor, to supply pulpits, and to fill other open doors of ministry. He preached faithfully in several rest home care facilities every month. He has served as the Pastor of Parkway Baptist since November of 2023. He is a faithful servant of the Lord who loves people.
